Skellingthorpe is a village in Lincolnshire.
Which can be found just west of Lincoln.
The local church is Saint Lawrence’s.
During world war two
many bomber airfields surrounded the city of
Lincoln,
the nearest of these was Skellingthorpe,
which could be found only two miles south-west of its outskirts.
Built on an area of pasture known as Black Moor amongst several large woods
its purpose was to provide a satellite airfield for
Waddington.
