East Kirkby
The village can be found approximately six miles to the south-west of Spilsby and eight miles to the south-east of Horncastle.
To visit by road take the A16 south out of Spilsby and head for Boston. When you reach Keal, the A155 splits off to the west (right), East Kirkby is approximately two miles from this junction.
Church History - St. Nicholas Church
This church is dedicated to St. Nicholas.
Parts of the church are thought to date back as far as 1320.
The church seats over two-hundred people and is built from
Ancaster
stone and green sandstone.

Stan Barstow - (Stanley Barstow)
Novelist.
Stanley (Stan), born in 1928 into a Yorkshire mining family
Educated in Ossett.
Written numerous novels about Yorkshire life.
But will always be best known for his first novel,
A Kind of Loving (1960).
This novel follows the fortunes of office-worker Vic Brown
(Victor Arthur Brown), who is forced to marry his pregnant girlfriend Ingrid Rothwell.
Victor is to a great extent shown in the novel to be a prisoner of his own respectability -
a respectability which becomes strained to its breaking point in the course
of his relationship with Ingrid and of course her mother, Mrs Rothwell.
Eventually he his able to find a very unselfish solution to his predicament,
which is
To do 'what's right' by all and hope for 'a kind of loving' that will carry them through.
