Julian Barnes

Born in Leicester, Leicestershire, England, January 19th, 1946.
Novelist.
Julian's first two novels, the most well known being Metroland published in (1981) and Before she Met (1982), both combine a flamboyant wit and scatological comedy, added to this is a psychological sensitivity that recalls Flaubert. Flaubert is also the main subject in his very well known, and read third novel, Flaubert's Parrot (1984). This third novel is very interesting in the way that it combines biographical investigation, historical speculation and fantasy, in a very original manner, a work which has been highly praised for this by many.

His other works include Staring at the Sun (1986), A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters (1989), Talking it Over (1991), The Porcupine, novella (1992), etc.
