Bicker is a large village in Lincolnshire.
Which can be found approximately two miles north-east of Donington
or nine miles west-south-west of Boston via the A52.
The local Church is St. Swithin's.
Which dates back to the time of the Normans,
though most of the current building is Elizabethan.
In medieval times the village of Bicker was a small port on an arm of the Wash.
The medieval estuary - Bicker Haven took its name from what was then the town of Bicker,
which is today a village.
The English settlers began to reclaim the marsh for pasture in the mid sixteenth century
Due to this land reclamation the estuary silted up and the nature of Bicker
changed from a small port to a fenland farming village.
Today Bicker village is Nine miles away from the Wash.
Remains of this medieval estuary, the Bicker Haven can still be seen today.
Bicker - seems to-or may - mean 'the town marsh' - the town being - Donington.
