Barkston ("Barkston le Willows" or "Barkstone in the Willows"),
is a village in Lincolnshire,
which can be found approximately four miles to the north of Grantham.

The local church is St.Nicholas, which dates back to the 12th century.

RAF Barkston Heath currently hosts the joint service elementary flying school (JEFTS) for pilots of the Royal Navy and the Army who operate and fly the black and yellow Slingsby Fireflies.
It also acts as a relief landing ground for nearby RAF Cranwell.

Recommended is a visit to The Stag which is easily found in the lovely village of Barkston and offers everything you would expect and more from an Old English village pub. Its restaurant offers an extensive menu catering for a wide range of tastes, plus there are daily specials which can be found on the restaurant blackboard, also on offer is a very extensive range of carefully selected wines from all over the world including Australia, Chile and South Africa as well as a selection of quality European wines.
